We understand that it’s easy for prospective students to get confused between the SEVIS fee and the visa application fee, so let’s break it down. The SEVIS fee is $200 for F and M visa applicants and $180 for J visa applicants. There are also other special rates for limited categories. Some of our visa applicants forget to bring their SEVIS fee receipt or even forget to pay the SEVIS fee at all prior to their visa interview. As a result, they have a hard time finding a computer and printer in the vicinity of the Embassy to pay and/or print the receipt.
